Source: Explorart LLC Explorart Films creates and finances new Development Company to package slate of 35mm feature films. Thursday, October 23, 2004. Ann Arbor based XP Productions LLC will serve as Explorart’s new development division for the development and packaging of feature films. ANN ARBOR, Mich., October 23, 2004. Explorart Films announces the creation of XP Productions, a film development company. With support from a team of international investors, the new development company will take over all advanced development activities for Explorart’s upcoming feature film White Song, and will soon begin early development procedures for several additional 35mm feature films. Ann Arbor based XP Productions will operate as an integrated division of Explorart Films. The company will be fully managed by Explorart’s staff and will operate from Explorart’s US headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan. “The creation and financing of our new development company speaks to our commitment to a balanced production strategy and our goal of rapidly becoming a major player within the international independent film industry” said filmmaker Juan Carlos López Durán, Explorart Founder and CEO. “We are certain that this new development division will be able to rapidly move our projects from development to production while ensuring the projects’ commercial feasibility and consolidating the projects’ early distribution strategies.” Although the early activities of the new development division will focus on packaging feature film White Song, the division will soon begin to evaluate screenplays to be packaged in 2005 and 2006. The division will pursue projects that follow Explorart's production philosophy. These projects will consist of character-driven adventure/drama stories that can be produced for under 5 million dollars and that contain the right combination of originality, artistry, and commercial appeal.
