Explorart Films acquires representation rights for internationally acclaimed film “A House with a View of the Sea”.

Explorart signed a representation agreement with Venezuelan Production Company Cinema SUR with the intention of securing video and broadcast distribution for the award-winning Latin film

ANN ARBOR, Mich., June 3, 2005. Explorart films announced today that it has signed a representation agreement with Venezuelan Production Company Cinema SUR with the intention of securing video and broadcast distribution for the award-winning Latin film “A House with a View of the Sea”. Pending additional approvals by the film’s international co-producers, Explorart will begin distribution negotiations as early as July of 2005.

Nestor L. Lopez, Explorart’s vice-president and director of North American operations stated “We are excited to sign this agreement with Cinema SUR. We are proud to represent one of the best films ever produced in Latin America and hope to contribute to the future financial success of the picture.” Under the terms of the agreement, Explorart will work to secure video and television broadcast distribution in selected foreign territories. Mr. Lopez added, “We are certain that we will be successful in securing distribution of the film, since it is a true jewel of the emerging Latin American film industry and we will now work hard to ensure that audiences around the world are able to enjoy it”. Explorart will also work on distributing the film's original soundtrack.

The film was produced in 2001 by Explorart’s current president Juan Carlos Lopez Duran in collaboration with IMX (Canada), Cinema Sur (Venezuela), and Intercatel (Spain). It was directed by up-and-coming Latin director Alberto Arvelo and enjoyed performances by Spanish star Imanol Arias and Canadian actor Gabriel Arcand, as well as music by international recording artist Lorena McKennitt. The film received significant international acclaim, wining more than 15 awards including the OCIC Award at the prestigious Cartagena Film Festival, the Audience Awards at the Fribourg International Film Festival and the Huelva Latin American Film Festival, and the Prix International Titra at the Mons International Festival of Love Films. The film also received additional awards at the Cinemanila International Film Festival, Havana Film Festival, Miami Hispanic Film Festival, and Oslo’s Films from the South Festival. Venezuela selected the film as its official entry for the 2002 Academy Awards.
