Source: Explorart LLC Pilot of new HD Documentary Series follows the life of Latin American Climber Jose Antonio Delgado. Explorart newest HD documentary series follows the life of the some of the world’s most celebrated mountain climbers. ANN ARBOR, Mich., October 25, 2005. Explorart Films announced today that the pilot for the new HD documentary series “Mountaineers: Beyond the Summit” will present the life of one of the most successful Latin American climbers of all time: Jose Antonio Delgado. The pilot is currently in post-production and Explorart expects to start screening the series for networks and distributors in September of 2006. “Mountaineers: Beyond the Summit” is an ambitious HD documentary series that portrays the life of 13 of today’s most celebrated mountain climbers. The series accompanies them as they ascend the world’s most beautiful mountain ranges, from the Himalayans to Patagonia. Through their own eyes, “Beyond the Summit” reveals the contagious spirit and philosophy that drives these climbers’ hunt for the summit. The pilot episode presents the life of Jose Antonio Delgado, the first Venezuelan climber to reach the summit of Everest and one of the few climbers in the world to have reached the top of the world’s most difficult mountains, including Cho Oyu (8201 mts), Shishapangma Central (8008 mts), Gasherbrum II (8035 mts) and Everest (8850 mts). The episode follows Jose Antonio as he climbs the north face of Venezuela’s most popular climbing destination – Humboldt Peak – and attempts his fifth 8,000 mts mountain: Nanga Parbat.
